5 Day Earthbag Building Workshop, Adelaide Australia.

This is a five day introduction to earthbag building at D'Annies farm in Adelaide Australia. I love earthbag building for a number of reasons: In terms of cheap, sustainable disaster-proof structures, I think it’s hard to beat. No other building method can compete in terms of price and sheer indestructibility. Earthbag is fast to build (way faster than cob) and doesn't require much technical expertise. In our five day workshop at D'Annie's farm we'll be building a small earthbag dome.

- All about the sacks, the wire and other earthbag building materials.
- How to create a suitable foundation for earthbag houses.
- How to build a stem wall.
- How to fill and lay the earthbags properly.
- How to tamp the earthbags properly.
- How to maintain structural integrity with the walls.
- The importance of tying in.
- How to insert window holes and door frames.
- How to create a dome.
- How to protect a dome from the elements.
